A distress call is made whenever someone is in need of help. Depending on the situation, either a fire is started to act as a signal, a flare gun is fired, radio signals are transmitted or loud sounds are made. All these are ways of calling for help.
In our times of distress we are to send out a signal to God. To send out a signal to someone in times of need proves that we believe that help will surely come. A similar attitude should be exhibited when we call on God for help in times of trouble.
We should believe that he can help us. We should get rid of doubt that cripples our faith in God. When we doubt we are likened to the wave of the sea driven with the sea and tossed. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (James 1:6)
Delay to answers of our prayers to God often leads to frustrations and we finding alternative ways to receive what we prayed for. What we should keep in mind is that God is always on time. This should encourage us to keep on praying, hoping in God and believing that at His time he will make all things beautiful.
God promises that as long as we call on Him he will deliver us. Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory." (Psalm 50:15 NLT) This version uses the word Rescue. No matter the situation we find ourselves in God promises to rescue us. God will rescue you, he will pull you out of that situation you are in and place your feet on a solid rock. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. (Psalm 40:2).
Send out your distress call today, He will surely come to your rescue!
