The ministry of Jesus had tremendous impact. From His Baptism by John the Baptist to the healing of the ear of the servant of the high priest, He was doing good.
It is stated that if all of Jesus' miracles were to be listed in the Bible there would not be enough room for that. Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. (John 21:25)
Jesus was sent to this world for a purpose, to die that we may have life and have it abundantly. His works however were not limited to the sacrifice on the cross. His manifesto in Isaiah 61 states the many works Jesus came to do.
He came to preach good tidings to the meek, to heal the broken hearted, to set the captives free, to set the prisoners free, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, to give beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. (Isaiah 61:1-3)
Jesus came to be that shoulder you need to lean on when all seems lost, Jesus came to heal that sickness that has derailed your life, Jesus came to take away those burdens and to give you beauty for ashes, Jesus came to wipe away all tears that all who mourn may put away that heavy dark cloak and pick up garments of praise.
He was doing good through out his ministry here on earth and today he is calling out to us to invite him into our lives that he may abide in us and we abide in him and he will continue the good he started on the cross of calvary in our lives today.
Everywhere He went
He was doing good
Almighty Healer
He healed the leapers
When the cripples saw Him
they started walking
Everywhere He went my God
was doing good
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I commit my life in your hands. Let me experience your goodness in my life and let the whole world accept you that you may do good to all who call upon you.
And unto Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we could ever ask or think, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.
Amen!
