It Is Well with My Soul

Bible Text: Psalm 46:1-11

Jesus seeing that a storm was fast approaching, asked his disciples to take the boat and cross to the other side.

He did not do this to discourage them or break them down but he wanted to build Trust in them (Matt. 14:22-34). Yes it was so scary not knowing what their fate will be in that weak boat stuck in the stormy sea.

The Israelites had a red sea in front of them, and a furious Pharaoh behind them. They were in a nightmare knowing that forward or backwards they were set for doom. But however this storm was not to end in destruction. This storm was necessary to push them into their destiny. (Exodus 14)

We gain this God-confidence in the midst of a storm by spending time to get to know Him. When we know who God is we will know that he is bigger than anything that comes our way. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. (Psalm 147:5)

When Job had lost all he thought he had, God needed to remind him of who he was.
And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?” (Job 26:14)  God did this to illustrate to Job that he God is always in control and nothing happens without his knowledge. This power shows that God can do and undo anything he wants at any time. So irrespective of what Job faced at the moment, God was using it to work it all out for Job's good.

When difficult times comes, we should learn to trust God in them. These storms are for a reason to grow your faith in Him. Through out scripture we see how God turns the storm to the benefit of those who thought it was over. Life may be throwing alot at you right now but I want you to know that come what may, Jesus got you and as long as he got you, It is well with your soul. Don't be discouraged!!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I commit my life in your hands. There will be storms in my life but Lord help me to trust you in all these storms because I know they are all working for my Good. Help me to always know that It is Well with my Soul

And unto Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we could ever ask or think, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.
Amen!
