Healing in the Blood of Jesus

Bible Text: Isaiah 53:5

To be bound to sin, shackled down, unable to live the life that God intended for us is the most fatal disease. This disease's remedy is only found in the blood of Jesus.

The adulterous woman had lived a life of sin. She had been caught in the act and brought to Jesus. She needed to be saved from her wretched way of life. Her accusers, who had brought her before Jesus to pass a judgement on her in order that they may stone her, themselves needed healing. (John 8:1-11)

After a moment with Jesus, she receiver her forgiveness and healing. She was restored. Sin no longer ruled over her. This same healing has been made available to us through the death of Jesus on the cross of Calvary.

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

By faith we can receive healing through Jesus' Blood. In our place Jesus went through the most excruciating pain, humiliation and suffering that we may have peace and healing.

The forgiveness and healing the adulterous woman needed was not dependent on how long she had lived a life of sin, it did not depend on how many men she had indulged in the act with, neither was it dependent on why she was in the act. The healing came because she needed healing. It came just on time to save her life from death.

The healing we need is possible. It does not matter how long, how much or whoever is involved. All that matters is by His stripes we are healed. Jesus has already paid the price for our sin. All that is left is for us to accept we are sinners and allow him to heal us. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering. (Isaiah 53:4)

This healing brings peace that surpasses all understanding. Through this healing we are free to enjoy the abundant life God has for us.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I commit my life in your hands. Forgive me a sinner. Bring me back to you. Take away my sins and wash me white as snow.

And unto Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we could ever ask or think, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.
Amen!
