Day and hour Unknown

Bible Text: Matthew 24:36-51

This world is going to end one day. The signs of this end have been made known by Jesus:  Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of birth pains. (Matthew 24:7-8)

Jesus' second coming is the much awaited event and only the father in Heaven knows of the day and hour, not even the angels nor the Son. How then can we prepared for this day as in the words of Jesus: “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. (Matthew 24:42)

We must first surrender our lives to Jesus, invite him to come and make your heart his home. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. (Revelation 3:20)

We must make a conscious effort to let go off the sins that separates us from Him, and live for him in all our ways through obedience to his Word. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)

Let your life be a witness to others in as much as you speak to others about Jesus. Freely you have received, freely give. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)

But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I commit my life in your hands. Help me Lord to watch and wait for your second coming, take away all things that will keep me away from you. May I be your witness to the whole world, speaking of your goodness to all nations.

And unto Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we could ever ask or think, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.

Amen!
